Coaches

Mason Beck

Head Coach. Captain of the John Carroll University Men’s Varsity Swim Team. Currently holds 6 school records at JCU and 3 OAC conference records. Studying Marketing and Supply Chain with a minor in Entrepreneurship.

Laurel Beck

Head Coach. Currently resides in Bay Village but grew up in North Olmsted. Has taught in Bay Schools for the last 24 years teaching science, but recently changed to the Gifted Intervention Specialist for fifth grade and K-2. She has spent countless hours over the last 14 years supporting Mason’s passion for swimming. 

Noah Beck

Assistant Swim Coach. Was on the varsity swimming and diving team at Bay High School all four years and was a two-time captain and three-time letterman. He also participated in track and soccer throughout his high school career. In soccer, he earned four varsity letters and was three-time state runner-up. He currently also works at a gym and is in the process of becoming a personal trainer. 

Rebecca Thomas

Assistant Swim Coach. Rising senior at Bay High School where she is a Rockette, a member of A Cappella, and has been on the swim team all 3 years. She likes to volunteer in the Special Needs Ministry at Bay Presbyterian Church and swam on the Bay Rec Swim Team for 5 years.

Lydia Moell

Assistant Swim Coach. Just graduated from Bay High in 2019 and will be attending Miami University in the fall. Has been swimming since she was 6, including many years on the Bay Recreation team. Her favorite events are the 500 and 200 free and her favorite hobbies are hanging with friends, playing with my dogs and swimming.

Courtney Brewer

Assistant Swim Coach. Just graduated From Bay High school as part of the class of 2019 and will be furthering her education at DePaul University in Chicago with plans on majoring in psychology. She swam with the bay rec up until she was 11 and then swam for the High Schools swim team. This will be her third year coaching for the bay rec. 

Zane Baylor

Assistant Swim Coach. A Finance and Data Analytics major at the Ohio State University. He received a varsity letter each year of high school swimming and qualified for Districts both years. In his free time he enjoys pursuing fitness in many realms, as well as furthering his education within the financial world.

Steven Malloy

Assistant Swim Coach. Currently attends Avon High School and is transitioning into his senior year. This fall he’ll be participating in his fourth season of Varsity swim team. His 100 butterfly, 200 medley relay, and 400 freestyle relay have all brought him to the district level, and his sophomore year he earned the Most Improved Returning Swimmer award. Outside of athletics, he is an active member of Avon’s KEY club, art club, and student council, and has recently completed my first year of National Honors Society.

Danielle Guadino

Assistant Swim Coach. Has been swimming since she was in 4th grade and started swimming with the Bay Rec team and then joined LSSC. Has swam the past 3 years for the BHS swim team and is also a part of the Bay High Rockettes. She is really excited to help the swimmers achieve their goals and most importantly have fun!

Bridget McPhillips

Assistant Swim Coach. Will be attending Kent State University in the fall studying Journalism. Throughout high school, she participated on the volleyball and swim teams. She has swam since she was 6 and she will continue to swimming for fun in college. She has been working at the pool for 3 years and is so excited for what this year has to come!

Mark Fischer

Assistant Swim Coach. Graduated from Bay High School in 2017. Has been swimming since he was 4 years old and competed on the Bay Rec swim team until he was 16. He also swam in high school and is currently at Lake Erie College where he is playing Baseball.

Liza Dwyer

Assistant Swim Coach. A 17 years old, is a rising senior at Bay High School and loves swimming! She has swam on the Bay High School swim team for 3 years, participates in Rockettes, Choraleers, and the musical, and is a part of NHS. She is very excited to be coaching with the Bay Village Swim Team this summer!

Olivia Coury

Assistant Swim Coach. A rising junior at Belmont University in Nashville Tennessee, she is currently studying Music Business. She swam for Bay High for 3 years and was the captain of the softball team. She also swam for many years when she was younger. She was a coach the past two years and absolutely loved it and can’t wait for another great summer!
